From giving all she had, to receiving all she deserved.

In a land far away...

There lived a kind girl with nothing left but the clothes on her back.
Not long ago, she had lost her parents, her home, and everything she knew.

One day, as she wandered through town searching for food and shelter, when a kind soul approached her and offered a piece of bread.
The girl stared at the stranger with big, grateful eyes, she held the bread tightly, and whispered, “Thank you.”

She was just about to take a bite when she heard a weak, trembling voice. “Please, young lady, do you have something to eat? I am so hungry!”

Her stomach growled, but the sight of the old man before her broke her heart.
She smiled softly and handed him the bread. “I wish you the best,” she said, and walked away with empty hands but a warm heart.

As she continued her journey, hunger gnawed at her, but she soon encountered a woman clutching her head.
“My head is so cold,” the woman said. “Please, do you have something to cover it with?”

The girl paused, her hand brushing against her warm hood. She hesitated for just a moment, then gently removed it and placed it on the woman’s head.
“I hope this keeps you warm,” she said, managing a smile.

The day grew colder, and darkness began to fall. The girl hadn’t yet found food or a place to stay. As she walked on, she met another in need, a man with frozen feet, shivering against the biting wind.

Without hesitation, she slipped off her boots and handed them to him.

“Take these,” she said. “May they bring you comfort.”

Now barefoot, with only the simplest of clothing left, the girl trudged on. Her body ached from the cold, her stomach growled, and her spirit wavered. Still, she pressed forward.

At the edge of town near the forest, she saw a small figure leaning against a tree. As she drew closer, her heart sank. It was a child, dirty and soaked, without even an undershirt to keep warm.

The girl’s trembling hands moved to unfasten her last piece of clothing. “No one is here,” she thought, “and I can give him what I still have.” She handed the shirt to the boy and pointed him toward the town.

“Go that way,” she said. “You’ll find help there.”

Now completely bare, the girl stood under the moonlight. Tears of exhaustion rolled down her cheeks, warm against her frozen skin.

She closed her eyes, trying to hold onto hope. And then...

The sky sparkled. Tiny stars began to fall, their silver glow turning to gold as they reached the ground. The girl opened her eyes and gasped, pieces of golden coins scattered around her feet.

Even as she marveled at the miracle, a soft fabric draped itself over her shoulders, a garment of the finest linen she had ever seen.

After gathering the coins into her new robe, the girl stared at the mysterious sky.

Tears of gratitude spilled over as she whispered,

“Thank you.”
